An alias is another address that lands in this inbox — and that you can send from. Up to 8.
Type a full address on a domain Zeq hosts mail for (e.g. you@hulyas.org), or just a handle to get handle@zeq.me.
Signatures
Added to the bottom of every message you send from that address. Applied when the message is sent, so it works from any client.
Connect an existing mailbox — safely
- Add your alias above, then send it a test from your other account to confirm it arrives here.
- Forward, don’t hand over your password. In Gmail: Settings → Forwarding and POP/IMAP → Add a forwarding address, enter your Zeq address, and Gmail will email a confirmation code — it arrives here, and you confirm. Outlook: Settings → Mail → Forwarding.
- Zeq Mail will never ask for your other mailbox’s password. If any page asks you for it, stop — that isn’t us.
- To send as that address, keep it listed above; outbound mail is signed (DKIM) so it isn’t marked as spoofed.
- Guard your recovery file. Your .ZEQ file and equation are the only way back in — anyone holding them can read this mailbox. Keep them offline.
What’s protected: subjects and bodies are encrypted at rest here. Mail between Zeq accounts stays protected end to end. Mail arriving from the public internet travels in the clear until it reaches us — that’s true of all email, and we encrypt it the moment it lands.
Blocked senders
Mail matching a rule here is refused at the door — it is never stored. Senders whose mail is quarantined repeatedly are added automatically.
Address blocks one sender exactly. Domain blocks everything from that domain and its subdomains. Pattern accepts * as a wildcard — e.g. *invoice*@* or *@*.top. Patterns are powerful; check one against your real mail before relying on it.
How screening works
Every inbound message is scored with the framework’s own operators — CS47 Shannon entropy over the body, the HF anomaly scan that looks for hidden or steganographic payloads, PHISH-001 on any links, and the HF1–HF20 forensic composite under KO42 modulation. Attachments are additionally checked for executable content, double extensions, declared type contradicting the actual bytes, and entropy inconsistent with the claimed format.
Being straight with you: this is anomaly and heuristic screening, not a signature-based antivirus — there is no malware definition database behind it. A clean result means nothing suspicious was found, not that a file is certified safe. Treat unexpected attachments with the same caution you always would.
